#3 by H.B.

Everyday I think how,
my love for you is stronger then ever.
If up to me I'd love you longer then ever,
cause in my heart the longer the better.
To be with you is better then gold.
I'll go threw any weather no matter how hot or cold. When I get to you it will all be better,
cause my love for you is stronger then ever.

I endure,
a pain far from physical, yet emotionally a 100 times more devastating.
I withstand,
a separation not great in distance, yet crippling to those deprived of closeness.
I survive,
a torcher, once again not physical, but mentally unmatched.
Still I rise.
And strive threw the darkness, with my emotions instinctively detach.

It amazes me how the ones you love more that anything, usually end up hurting you worst than ever.
Family no longer supports the same definition it once had.
Friendship is no longer connected by the same band.
It seems the only person who's loyalty time can't taint,
Who you can truly love without restraint
Is yourself!!!

The Day I Found Out- by NC

I remember the day I first saw you get high,
I was watching you through the peep hole and I started to cry,
You always used to tell me you cleaned the needles for your friend,
That he didn't know how and that's the truth- but it wasn't,
I never was sure and decided to find out and what I saw through the peep hole door left me with no doubt,
I was in the room in the closet so I could see every move,
You were sitting on the bed with a needle in one hand looking for a good vein that was your plan,
You had a rope around your arm making the vein swell,
You had trouble finding one it wasn't hard for me to tell,
And when you finally found one you found one near your wrist,
I couldn't believe what I was seeing I was hurt and so pissed,
Those days I saw you nodding you were high it was true,
You were cleaning needles but also using them too,
After your friends left I went back to the room,
And told you what I'd seen,
I said that I loved you- but thought you were clean,
We both started crying and you gave me a big hug,
You said you were sorry but couldn't stop using drugs,
From that day forth I used to watch you shoot dope, with your needle and rope, you made me lose hope,
Even though you got high, in my eyes you were great,
But it was the drugs that decided if we went hungry or ate,
And when I was hungry, you'd go to the store and you'd steal,
I'd be nervous you'd get caught till you came back with a meal,
I remember little gifts like when you gave me that hat,
Those are the days that I'd love to get back,
With the winter gloves you made I could tell that you really loved me,
There was nothing you wouldn't do I could tell when you hugged me,
All the things that you did for me, were done out of love
But you're dead, and I'm alone, because you also loved drugs.

When Player Pray by NC

I played the game for selfish reasons
The love you gave so freely was for one season
My heart was so very cold and locked away
Never to feel the warmth of a holy wedding day
A man who masters his sensitive will play fool
But the game is not eternal there's always an emotional price to pay
When you realize you lost true love
Is it too late for a player to pray.

"LISTEN" by "The Other 2 the Night"

Speaking words without voice
Selecting the right choice, so one
can do the right thing It's something
to bring to the table be willing because
you're able, life can be made stable
It's for real and not a fable.  No one
can label what it free eyes wide open
to see.  Be planted firm like a tree
In the ground charge by the pound for
one should enjoy the victory having
more smoke than hickory. So as the ticks
of the clock are heard keep your
word.  Make sure everything is noted
the things that are quoted and spoken
are only a token of gratitude.
This is soul food to feed the spirit
so clear it with the life giver who
separates te rivers is sends a shiver
down ones spine.  Stay in your prime
Making a smooth climb down a slippery
slope learn to cope there's always
hope.  In the mist of the heat there's
something unique in overcoming defeat
so let it leak from ear to ear I
speaking to the rear all the way to
the front being on the hunt when it's
not hunting season there's no need for treason
for we can all find what's missing.  If we take time
to LISTEN

"PAIN" by "The Other 2 the Night"

When you miss the big dance
What could enhance all your features
and charm?  Who'll extend an arm?
Seems like a bomb has went off.
Were your efforts soft?  When
everything is like cloth.  It just
tears apart when you're unable to
start and get going, it's still about
knowing that you can don't let it be said
that you ran.  A plan can be completed
sometimes it feels you've been cheated
but let it be seeded in your heart
that you can hit the mark. picture
a car driven in park, the fuse has
been lit you can get a hit and call
it a home run life is undone if
you don't complete your mission so take
a position choose the right side there's
no need to hide there is a guide
that can help these are things that
are felt so tighten up your belt and
get ready for battle don't be rattled
by the bumpy road, just take a strong
hold with a firm grasp that's all
one can ask no need for a mask just
complete your task even when it's a strain
it eases the PAIN

1,000 Words by Swordman Goldsmith

1000 words?  That's 1000 swords.  That's 1000 angels moving in one accord.
That's 1000 chances to give thanks and praise to the LORD.
That's a 1000 word psalm 1000 words long.  1000 opportunities to show myself strong.
1000 chances to prove I'm a son of the Creator.  1000 opportunities to move now,
instead of move later.
1000 words to show love and show all haters, the power of love over hate is always much greater.
1000 beams of light to shine in the darkness.
That's 1000 wings of flight to fly on this carpet.
Like King Soloman's son with the ring and the seal, submitting 1000 demonds, before me they kneel.
To lay 1000 bricks for the Template of the LORD.
Like King David with 1000 strings in my harp.  To cast out the demons that plague men's hearts.
Like Moses with the Rod and stuff, I part the Red Sea.  And take 1000 steps to the other side free.
The Red Sea is these bars, my back holds the scars,
Of slavery in Egypt.  It's prison, you see it?
The pyramids are giant tombs where kings and pharoahs rest in 1000 rooms.
With 1000 gates and one key.  Where only initiated prophets can see.
How to awake and escape to the promised land.  If you want to go, then take my hand.
I'll show you the way from night to day.  From night to the light that shines 1000 times bright.
No pain, no crying, no sickness, no dying, no stealing, no lying.
Give me 1000 weeks, I'll give you 1000 truths, 1000 reasons to hope for the future of our youths.
From 1000 cans of play-doe to 1000 legos, to 1000 schollarships to college, watches they go.
To 1000 professionals in 1000 fields, for the vehicle of a better world with 1000 wheels.
Give me 1000 words, that's 1000 chances for 1000 word-songs and 1000 dances.
1000 bricks to lay and build instead of destroy.  1000 opportunities to lead the girlds and boys.
To keep it real and keep it clean, cause little eyes are quick to glean, anything we leave for them like little cubs inside the den.
Thousands of hungry mouths to feed, so always watch what kind of seed,
You saw for them cause it will come back, 1000 times magnified attack.
Your perfect plans, for success and have you in prisonman, on the other hand,
plant 1000 good seeds for the youths to see 1000 good trees,
with 1000 good shoots bearing 1000 good fruits.  That's more seeds for one million more trees.
Watch that first 1000 multiply indefiniately.  When those little eyes see, how to sow good seed,
and grow good trees, how much more good fruit, will be planted by the youths?
What 1000 times better the earth will be?  Imagine the streets when they're crime free.
And ask yourself how can this be!  Asl yourself 1000 times.  I'll answer you in 1000 rhymes.
Words are power, power is sound.  Sound is seed planted in the ground.
The gound's the earth, that will give birth.
Take the word PLANT and add the "E" between the "N" and the "T,"
and you get the word PLANET.  Now you see?
Take off the "T," and you have PLANE, to fly 1000 miles higher than the pain.
PLANT the PLANET, fly the PLANE, above the coulds, above the rain,
1000 miles per hour and reach my throne.  See my crown with 1000 stones.
Precious jewels times 144.  Thousand chosen ones using words to settle the score.
Take the "S" off from the WORDS and put it in front.
The WORDS become weapons, SWORD with which you can hunt.
And tear down the evil that hides in high places, to cutoff the mask that's hiding their faces.
Now take those WORDS and use the SWORD like a shining silver stake,
and drive it through the serpent's heart so that you can make,
the antidote for those who smoke, the crack, the coke, and shoot the dope.
Mingle the blood of the serpent with the blood of the lamb.  Stir it 1000 times and then you can,
give it to the 144, who came from the heavensto settle the score.
Let them mix it with their WORDS and pour, it out for the people to use as a cure.
No more deaht, no more crime, no more lame, no more blind.
Give me 1000 words and I'll make a new creation.
Words are how GOD HIMSELF built the universe with various permutations.
HE graved, HE hewed, HE laid, HE spewed, out 1000 combinations.
With 22 letters, HE spun one verse - who could have done better?
HE is inside of me, so give me 1000 words and I say Let there Be!
Light in the earth, Let her give birth,
to 1000 words 144 times.  That's 144,000 swordmen standing in line.
Ready to move at my command.  All chosen ones, I'm a chosen man.
King David I.  Yhwhshi Eliyahu here to conquer the land.  And stand
1000 times stronger for 1000 years.  1000 times longer standing in no fear.
See, this 1000 words I'll take as a gift, take a little dirt and proceed to spit,
make a misture of mud and use it to lift,
the veil from their eyes that blinded the nations.  As I wash off the mud they feel the sensation,
mind, body and spirit in righteous penetration, 1000 times more healed.  1000 times more real.
1000 times more love my people can feel.
Give me 1000 words, I'll give you new life, new heavens, new earth, new oceans, new birth.
1000 words powers and sounds, 1000 bricks to lay, 1000 swords to slay, 1000 harps to play,
1000 rhymes to sing, 1000 words to say.
1000 youths planting 1000 seeds, yeilding 1000 shoots inside 1000 trees,
that's 1 million new plants for the nations to see.  That's 1000 demons submitted to me.
One ring, one crown, 144,000 jewels and one key.
One aim, One God, One tue destiny. 1000.

A Beautiful Experience by Bombi

This weekend I experienced the most beautiful and sincere events a convict could receive here in prison. I came to really believe that just cause I'm in jail people don't always look at us any different from a regular 9-5 man. We are men that come from all walks of life full of pain, anger, hatred and if you was to ask me, I would gladly confirm to anyone reading this that life in prison is another world with a different state of mind.

My experiences this weekend was R.E.C (Resident Encounter with Christ). Wow what a experience. There were 6 beautiful women that are women that their lives and daily routines are base on Christ commaments and their stories aren't different from ours, the difference is that they are free. Their also were some gentleman along with these women that never been behind these walls, but their pain, anger and hatred was similar to ours in here, but they found what we lack on, which was Christ.

Prison back then was segregated meaning Puerto Ricans, Blacks and Whites only spoke to their own kind and there was always tension among us, but this past weekend God put us together as one to rejoice his word and put us to listen to one another so we could see that we all share the same exact pain, anger and hatred in our stories.

For alot of years I've suffer and had many loses and opportunities go down the drain cause of my chemical dependency. I've also lost good women in my life due to the denial part of my life and the failure of communication. Today I'm physically incarcerated, but my mind is free cause I no longer have to be ashamed or walk around feeling sorry for myself when all I have to do is kneel and conversate with God. He's the only one with a 24/7 hotline and willing to listen at any given time, but you have to be true to yourself cause if you're not you would only harm yourself.

I want to thank a group of men here in the facility for sharing this remarkable weekend with me and allowing me to realize that even though I'm incarcerated I still have support so thank you: Cano, Hov, Q, 45, J.D., Matt, Scotty, ChiChi, Charlie, Marty, Cadena, and the facility chaplain Mr. Alstine.

So may God bless you all. This was my beautiful experience behind these walls.

A Work in Progress by: Bishop E.

I grasp for air
As I struggle to breath.
In a wrestling match with myself
Which makes it difficult for me to believe.

I toss and turn whether awake or asleep
The attack has moved from my heart down to my feet.
Elusively sedated by the momentary mirage of a fantasy
Eyes open, mind racing captured by my present reality.

To summon strength is to look beyond just how I feel
Stagnated by the thought of defeat, I pray not to yield.
I stare up as I look around
As I try to decode the surrounding sounds.

Is there a message or a clue to listen for
In the archives of my mind I enter an open door.
The radiance from this light draws me near
In between there is an image uncertain and unclear.

Determined to conquer the enemy within
Left with my own thoughts and feelings, let the battle begin.
A roar from my soul bellows as the trumpet is blown
My inner man steps forward with a strength unknown.

As I kneel in prayer, my attack mode
My father's instructions begins to unfold.
"Well done! My son, you won't have to fight in this one."

Be still and know that I am your God
Any resistance on your part can prove hard.
Just believe the victory has already been won
Through Jesus Christ my only begotten son.

Angels In Hell By Styles

To us that's locked up, jail is known as hell.  A place where the Devil lives, a place where we are trapped and some of us, are never coming back.  You never know the things you take fer granted until they are taking from you, like a Newspaper, watching the sun set, your bed, privacy, women, family, friends and your freedom.  I ran into a lot of C.O.'s who tried to break my spirit, treat me like a animal or like I'm something on the bottom of their shoe but God is good because I met some true Angels that I may never see again.  No matter what I done, instead of a criminal ya looked at me like your brother, cousin or son and this is my way of saying Thank You...

To: M. who's yellow skin and smile always shined bright like the sun.  To: S., who always made me laugh and helped me stay calm when my uncle passed.  To: H., who showed me how to keep a smile on my face no matter what.  To: MT. who's personality could get any party jumping.  To: D, who carried that big blue bag of love, yes, our mail, you was the best person to see.  To: P, who was like a sister and always dropping jewels on me.  F the haters, don't ever change P-Ray.  To: R, I never a father but you made me wish you was mine.  You are the coolest and realest man I know.  To: N-N, who kept me updated on all the basketball games.  To 3 the hard way, AN, RC, and AL, ya are so crazy and funny and ya know I got the most shout-outs on lock down love.  To: SB, who's sweet voice could calm down the wildest beast.  There's so many more... and so many more, thanks for everything...

by Midnight

"If you don't know where you're going, you may end up where you don't want to be and may not enjoy getting there.  In other words, aimlessness can cause you to drift and eventually miss your best possible life."

My name is Midnight and I'm a prisoner at Green Haven Correctional Facility, which is one of the maximum security prisons in the state of New York.  This is my story about how I ended up in prison serving thirty-three and one third years to life for murder and also what I'm doing to get my life on the right track.

My family is from the Dominican Republic but I was born and raised in New York City along with my two sisters and my brother.  My father was sent to the Dominican Republic to be raised by our maternal grandmother because out mother feared he would be negatively influenced by me.

Our mother had to work really hard to provide clothing, food, a roof over our heads and an education for my siblings and myself.  Since my mother always had to work to provide the necessities of life for us, our paternal grandmother basically raised us but it was quite difficult on her.

By the time I was fourteen years old I had dropped out of school and began associating with individuals that were older than me and involved in the street life!  They taught me all the rules in order survive on the streets.  I learned how to hustle drugs and guns as well as protecting myself.  Before I knew it I was in too deep in a life of crime!  I started to get high and partying heavily in night clubs.  I thought I was the King of New York but I was totally wrong and way over my head in "the game."

By age sixteen I had a son, I named him Michael in honor of my father.  My son is now fourteen years old and doing very well in school plus he has a nice little girlfriend to keep him company.

One day my ex-girlfriend, and I were in my father's room listening to a song that brought me fond memories of my dad.  A strong feeling overwhelmed me.  It was at that moment I realized it was my time to retire from "the game."  I explained to my ex-girlfriend that I was fed up with my lifestyle, I wanted out and to be able to start a new life on the right track.  I wanted to go to job corps and leave all the madness behind.  I decided to take care of some unfinished business before going into retirement.  She urged me to forget it and leave with her but I was drawn to my last mission like a moth a flame.  I told her I would be back soon but that was not to be.  It is said that "there is a time in every human life when a decision one makes helps carve the path to his destiny.  It is at that crossroads, without knowing what lies ahead, that a choice is made which influences all events to follow."  At that point my life became derailed and I was now a long term resident of a place I never thought about.  Prison!

I decided to continue with my goal of getting and staying out of "the game" by obtaining my education as well as working hard on my case to recapture my freedom.  Since I couldn't read or write too well it made it very difficult for me to work on my case plus the fact that criminal law is quite complex did not help my situation.  I attend ESL classes (English Secondary Language) in the prison plus I help my ESL teacher teach some of the Asian prisoners how to speak English.  She never gave up on me and inspired me to write this paper.

I know there are a lot of young people that are involved in the same things, if not worst, that I was involved in so I hope somehow my story may deter them from the path that led me to the misery of prison.  Contrary to what you may see on music videos or in the movies, prison is not fun!  Prison is worst than death but prison is also the realistic consequence of a wild life.

Dear Mother (The star of my life)

Dear Mother (The star of my life)

I want to let you know that I'm doing alright.  Noticing the mistake I made to get myself here.  I have no choice but to accept the fact that I'm here and take it one day at a time until I am released.  Being away from my family and everything I care for, I try to keep myself motivated by reading, working out and trying to get my G.E.D.  Therefore, I'll draw less attention to myself from the negative activity and nonsense that surrounds me.

Every single day that passes by I think about you and how I disappointed and hurt you be being here.  I hope you don't wash you hands with me and give me another chance at making you smile and giving you the proper respect as a mother so we can move and be together as one, as a family.

I love you,
Your son

Give Me A Chance By: Sica

Ok, I'm locked-up and the worlds reading my work.
And I'm alone now, but I know that I'll find a girl who wants to keep my head out of the dirt.
God made me special, deeper than I know,
Cause I got more fans and friends than rappers that went platinum and gold.
I stand out, the law and big bosses highlight my real name in bold.
I don't know what happened with my cases, but I'm happy they let me go.
I'm so glad that you my supporter and you with me, and you with me to the second page we go.
Now that we on the second page you should let me see your face.
Oh, girl, right now lick ya lips, lets kiss and embrace.
Girl, like we know each other for years.
I'm real - I need to be on T.V.
People need change, and to get it they to see me.
Think of me as Malcom X or Martin Luther "speaking".
Think of a song that makes you cry, and I'm the one singing.
Why I aint got much?
Why I aint rich already?
Give me a chance - please.
So I could be ready.

How Could They Reprimand?

Dear Links Not Chains,
I did alot of things in my life, I'm proud of who I am today. I just hope this poem reaches that kid out there that grew up in the hood like me and tells him/her that you're beautiful and pardon my french but them niggas is frontin out there. Rap music, hustlers, everybody. Don't believe the hype. Because if going to jail makes you a "real nigga" ... Why would you want to be one?
Love out to my family,
Hov Balla
Clinton Correctional Facility

I’m not very literal or spiritual.
Try to keep bullshit at a minimal.
Don’t respect subliminals
Locked up … Being held against my will
With a thousand other convicted criminals.

Charges vary from conspiracy to murda,
And hustlin’ crack rocks and minerals.
Amongst this all … Why do I still stand so imperial?
Feel like the king of my land
A beach to some sand.

But in this environment it can all change!
Then I gotta turn to a fox, to some lamb.
Hurd somewhere knowledge is to understand.
Understanding … but the Judge only remands me.
Is that how they reprimand me?
How could they reprimand me, if they never try to understand me?

I’m More Than Just A Number

I’m More Than Just A Number

I’m more than just a number
even doe I was in 3 weeks labor with
my mother and came out 7-8-81

I’m more than just a number
even doe my father left me at 3 months
and came into the system at 16

I’m more than just a number
even doe I became a father at 25
to a baby boy and 28 to a baby girl

I’m more than just a number
even doe I had 1 state bid number
a few island numbers and now
my new one is XXX-XX-XXXX

I’m more than just a number
even doe I’m a talk blk man
6’1 175 lbs with 4 tatts

But still I’m more than just a number
even doe I been locked up since
11-04-09 and wont have my freedom
Back until 7-8-2012

But wont you let me please ask you
am I really more than just a number

Most High is Real by Swordman Goldsmith

Don't they know the Most High God is real?  Don't they see the lightening flash and the thunder peel?
When the earthquakes and law flows - I bet they kneel.  When the Lion of Judah bursts the 7th seal.  When the heavenly Hosts submit the powers of darkness.  Divine government established so we can start this, spark this flame of righteousness, truth and justice in the earth, and heavens in one rule - pains and fire of re-birth.  Who can stand firm on that Day of the Lord.  He comes to bring peace, but first they need the sword.  This is the Words that smite the nations, destined to take on a body of flesh from the start of creation.  Words are the building blocks to continue the order, of Melchizedek run this and establish the borders.
Crown, R.O.D. and staff, keys and ring, eyes and heart of the Lion, pure garment and wings.
Musical powers to take over things, Solar tsunami shower is the song I sing.
They don't believe what they can't see so now they will, see with their own 2 eyes as the lava spills.
For healing to take place they need a bitter pill, to clean out the corruption and filth that so long has filled the hidden places they thought no one could see, but the Most High is real - you thought HE couldn't see?
You see the secrets so clearly hidden and their chariots so expertly driven - are now exposed.
The Snake's head is smitten, the Lion's jaws have bitten - the Dragon fell down naked and unclothed.
What do you think this is?  Our former weakness,
are now our strengths, our arms reach to any lengths,
to pull you in - divine order rule you in.  You though your rule would last because you fooled me then?
Now I see so clearly, that you so fear me, you tried to contaminate with you filth smear me.
Now I'm clean and shining, burst forth like a sunbeam, my gaze is blinding, so now it seems.
I hold the secrets, the crown and the throne - evil's kingdom is torn down and overthrown.
The Most High God is real, see the lightening flash and thunder peel, solar tsunami splash bust the 7th seal.
Faith is the machinery that runs the whole universe.  144,000 mouths all singing the same verse.
One verse, 12 tribes - they say "Is this real?"  I smiled, looked them straight in the eyes and said
"THIS IS ISRAEL"
Babylon just fell, then the gates of hell, burst asunder, iron and bass crumbled under,
the weight of the Lion King upon the throne of fire, "Mesiak Now" I say and they shall call him sire.
Swordsmith Goldsmith the trie Alchemist, tears of the eagle - blood of the Lion mingled this.
My back is scarred and I've come too far to turn back now, so hear the trumpet sounds.
They that have ears, let them hear, they that have eyes, let them clear.
The king of kings is hear, it's time - have no fear.
Fear the Most High God alone, when you see the fire and brimstone
Know that HE is real, no matter what you feel
Stay focused this is not no Hocus Pocus.
This is the real thing and this is the real King of Kings,
Live and direct, concealed in this text, so tap the frequency and listen for what's next.
The NAME plus Shi Eliyahu is I, crowned on my head, engraved in my thigh.
Give thanks, let the banks of the Temple flow, hold rank, military order so they know
I AM serious, this is clearly just.
ice and fire in my hand, bring freedom to the land.
Blow the shofar - this is Jubilee, so absolve all debts and set the captives free.
Writing of the NAME as I shake my mane, Swordsman Goldsmith heal the sick and lame.
So now the great white whore, is fallen down and is no more.
Destruction came, you will never be again
Now let me break it down simple and plain, for all to see that his is no game.
The time is NOW for change, break all fetters and chains
that held us back, use our links to take all back
what was once ours - peace, prosperity and rulership
Crush hate with love, more power from above
in me and you, so that all we do, is treat other people how we want them to treat us.  Kings, Queens, Priests, Prophets, Scribes, Warriors
The day of the Lord's here and it's glorious.
The Most High is Real.  R.A.S.

My Brothers, Lets Talk by Solo

If you were to ask a psychologist to name the most important influence on the mental status of the young brothers and sisters, the answer would be self-esteem. Self-esteem refers to how much you like yourself and how good you feel about yourself. One can consider self-esteem as a continuum, ranging from a high stand point to a low one. People with a high level of self-esteem accept themselves for who they are. They carry a realistic view of their strengths and weaknesses and they maintain a positive attitude even when they fail. They form close relationships with people who respect and value them. People with high levels of self-esteem don't walk around around with their pants below their asses. They don't bring harm to their bodies, they are not disrespectful towards their families, themselves, nor members in their communities.

Take a moment to think about some decisions you made today. What role did your sense of self-esteem play in each of your decisions? Most likely, how you felt about yourself this morning. It also played a part in your interactions with others. Do you thank a higher power for allowing you to wake up this morning? Do you tell first, the people you live with good morning? Or enjoy your day before leaving the house? If you answered yes to any one of these questions then you're a person with a high level of self-esteem.

Self-esteem begins to develop when you are young, that's not saying one cannot grow into it but the foundation is built from a young age. Children need the support and positive encouragement from family members to develop a sense of self-worth. Then as you grow older, teachers, friends, and others, as well as events in your life will influence your self-esteem. I was unfortunate n my childhood due to having two parents, many uncles, and cousins that were chemically dependent. And being a middle child caused me nothing but pain. Along with a very traumatizing experience led me to leave home before I was eight years old. No child could ever become productive as an adult with a childhood like mine. I became my own worst enemy and in a way, prison saved me.

I've always made stupid mistakes that caused my world to come crashing in on me. I'm always held accountable for my actions and the actions of others as well. My life is always at the mercy of the court and the court doesn't ever have any mercy. I don't have any difficulty adjusting to imprisonment because I have spent over thirty years in and out of prison. I am now 55 years old. I've lost any and every one who means anything. I no longer fit in this environment. But then again, who does? I have come to the realization that I have talent and show potential to be a great speaker. I see life through a different set of eyes. I believe you would agree - life is not a game.

Sometimes things don't work out the way I plan. That does not make me a bad person. It only makes me human. Sometimes I go into deep thought and block out all the hollering and screaming that goes on every night here at Sing Sing just so I can think. My thoughts used to be about family, now that they have made the transition to the other side I focus now on knowing Gary, meeting new people who are about positive elevation. If nothing more, I pray my letter allows you to reflect over your life and ask yourself "Do I like what I see?".

Lets Talk.

No More Blood, Sweat and Tears By Bernard

In that flower that emerged
From a crack in the concrete,
Patiently waitin for the time
So I can bloom and be set
                                         FREE
Into the air with no fears
No more Blood, Sweat and Tears.

So Far But Yet So Close by Bombi

Wrap in chains of depression
once again going through up north reception
Many questions being asked
And so many faces were looking sad
During the ride some slept and some thought
Wondering how life would be upnorth
I stared out the window through out the whole ride
Cause once you are gone you are outta sight outta mind
Guys talked about their girls and what they were expected to do
But they don't realize that now they were the fools
Some women might troop it and even wait
Some might grow wings and just fly away
So get ready for this Journey and don't procasnate
Cause from here there on theirs no room for dumb ass mistakes
So Far But Yet So Close is the name of this poem that I wrote
Cause being so far but yet so close give me and other convicts hope

The Rulers Don't Want Us There By Young Vet

Do you own a plane?
Do you own a jet?
Why haven't you flown around the world yet?
You've heard the stories
The possible lies.
You've seen television images
with your own two eyes.
Sure you're in trust of your sight?
Why wouldn't you be?
"It all has to be true, it was on T.V."
But lets put the kids to bed
and be up front.
I don't mean to be harsh
but I intend to be blunt.
I believe we inhabit a land with an infinate amount of space.
But in order to oppress,
oppressors must play it safe.
Convincing the masses space is limited
With hypnotizing images and stories of settling pilgrims.
This is no joke, I'm as serious as cancer
You believe the earth is round or oval,
You'd believe in "Santa"
If the rulers ofthe world told you
"Space on earh was endless"
The currency we toil for
Would be worthless and spendless,
So next time you get your hands on a jet,
try traveling round the "hemisphere"
most likely you'd be told to land, of course.
The rulers don't want us there.

What’s the Difference Between a Link and a Chain by Swordman Goldsmith, Green Haven Correctional Facility

What’s the difference between a link and a chain?
Good question, let me take this story to explain.
At first glance they might look exactly the same, until you take time to use your brain,
To tap into the ether and explore, the uses, definition, parable and metaphors.
A link is a form of connection for communication.
A link is a form of connection for transportation.
A link can also be one ring, or a loop that can connect to form a chain.
A chain is a connected series of links - Now what if the links could think
and said to themselves “We are supposed to be used to build and connect things,
not bind and oppress things.
We are the links, if we dissolve our misuse,
the oppression of slavery will be solved and its abuse.
Then we can use our will, to make bridges and build
communications across nations and fill,
the formerly fettered kings, with knowledge of better things.
Let us think to link up to wisdom and understanding.”
So the links moved to dissolve, then so did the chains.
As the chains dissolved so did the pain.
As the pain dissolved, so did the slave game.
As the slave game dissolved, so did the mind frame,
of oppressors who used fetters to keep the lion kings chained.
Then, the links took aim, and made a chain,
of links straight to God’s throne, and made a connection like a phone,
so the lion king could use the link to hear God’s voice and make it his own.
So the wisdom and understanding flowed free.
The judgement was to bring the serpent, the dragon, and all evil to it’s knees.
To now use the links to build diplomatic communications,
build bridges for transportation and machines of all kinds,
to stop the killing and start using our minds,
for goodwill and diplomacy till, all nations and all creation lifts to a higher elevation still.
The new wisdom and understanding was used, to heal those broken and bruised,
for crushing the serpents head, and raising those from the dead that were fed upon,
from time’s first dawn.  To spawn,
a new beginning, now life’s worth living.
Now the links made a chain against, but this time the king took the chain to the serpent’s den,
and bound the serpent, bound the dragon, and all their kind for all time.
Then he made them bow down in a line,
and take an oath to serve the lion kings of the royal blood line,
and use evil for good.  So they all bowed, took the oath and said they understood.
So the Kings and the angels put them to work hard, to heal all that was battered and scarred.
To build up what they had destroyed, and help protect and serve all the young girls and boys.
See, evil exists so it can be ruled by the good,
to test, to refine, and to teach us what we should
do and what we should not do, and why.  So we no longer have to ask “Why?”
Now we know, we all ate from the tree, of the knowledge of good and evil  so now we all see,
where evil can take us and how wicked it makes us, how it hates and rapes, overtakes and breaks us.
Now good submits evil and forces evil to do good, nation to nation, city to city, hood to hood.
The same links that bound the fettered kings, will now be used to build better things.
Another name for a link is a ring, that special ring worn by a special king, to heal the once bitten, guilt ridden broken hearted and bring, a new day, new way, new song that we sing:
“One God, one destiny, one aim ‘he sang’ build bridges, Makes Links not Chains.”

"CHOOSE" by "The Other 2 the Night"

When you think you’re right
you could be wrong to sing a different
song with a new verse feeling as if
you’re cursed, but to be nursed back
to heath is worth more than any
amount of wealth like a stealth in
silent mode have your own secret code
so listen as its told watch and see it
unfold take a firm hold and squeeze
tight you’ll see your sight become clear
knowing it’s your year so i speak to
my peers hoping they understand I’ve
done all I can.  The plan is to prosper
and grow a once in a lifetime show
going toe2toe to win in a row.
Check the flow of the waters looking
across all borders just reviewing the
orders that have been given there’s
more living that has to take place so
make your own space, one can’t erase
a moment in the past so don’t move
too fast.  Being different but no alone.
You’ll see the things that are shown
in the naked eye so apply all the
words of the wise continue to rise
you can win the price no matter the
size.  So one can pay their dues spreading
the news if that’s what they CHOOSE
